About Little Green Garage

From Garage To Grower

The Little Green Garage started in 2023 in the way a lot of good things do, out of a need for something different. After years spent behind a computer screen, the idea of working with hands in the soil, growing something real and useful, was hard to ignore. What began as an experiment in a Wellington garage has grown into a small but serious operation supplying microgreens and herbs to some of the city's best restaurants, cafes and catering companies.

The focus has always been on quality over quantity. Every variety we grow is chosen carefully, every tray is tended by hand, and everything is harvested to order so it arrives at its absolute freshest. We're not a factory operation, we’re a small grower that cares about what ends up on the plate.

If you're a chef, café owner or catering manager looking for a reliable local grower, or a home cook who wants genuinely fresh greens delivered to your door, we'd love to hear from you.

Our Growing Environment

What started in a Wellington garage has evolved into a purpose-built indoor grow room designed specifically for producing premium microgreens and herbs. Our grow room uses vertical farming methods with carefully controlled temperature, humidity and airflow to create ideal growing conditions. This allows us to produce consistent, high-quality greens regardless of season or weather.

From Seed to Harvest

Quality starts long before harvest. Every tray is hand sown using premium soil, which plays a large role in both the health and flavour of our microgreens. We use filtered water that is carefully adjusted for nutrient balance and precise pH, ensuring every crop gets exactly what it needs. We also grow spray-free, without harmful pesticides, fungicides or herbicides.
